    A note from Jess

This training has been in the making for ten years. I made my first yoga illustration in 2013 whilst pregnant with my first daughter. Since then I have taught yoga to children and adolescents in a range of settings; public events, festivals, retreats, mental health settings, charities, hospices and schools (to name a few)! The process of creating this training has been similar to the way children create and play without a final piece in mind. It has not been about getting to the end, but about enjoying the process. I would love if you explored the training with the same attitude. I’ve been playful and creative and gradually pulled together my learning into one place. The fact it has taken me ten years means there is a fullness to it. Weaved between the words are my experiences of joy, frustration, satisfaction, creativity, loss, grief, new life, motherhood and balancing my career with a family. It is an amalgamation of my work in child development, teaching, psychotherapy, yoga and creativity. It integrates many parts of me. Sometimes I feel I’m writing as a mother with nurture and care, sometimes as a therapist with attention to underlying processes, and sometimes as a teacher, knowing how to engage and structure sessions. The illustrator within me has certainly enjoyed creating the beautiful layout and catalogue of seasonal yoga poses. The analytical part of me has pieced together the research puzzle of western and eastern psychology.   I hope you enjoy the training in the same way it was created. With the same playful process. It isn’t necessary to navigate beginning to end, pick the bits which intuitively grab your attention. The self-paced nature of this training means you can absorb the part that resonates with you, explore it, play with it, let it land then come back again for more.

    Reviews

"I took my daughter and her two friends to family yoga with Jess today. We all really enjoyed it. The one and half hour session flew by and Jess picked a great balance of yoga, family fun, yoga crafts and many moments interweaved with silence that the children could integrate. As a yoga teacher and teacher of children myself, it was an honour to see Jess in action and learn from her."

"I took my childminding children to experience a toddler yoga class with Jessica today and it was really lovely! Jessica was so welcoming and the session was tailored around the children with lots of variety to keep them engaged and focused. The quiet and dark relaxation time complete with twinkly lights was magical. We will definitely be attending more classes. Thank you."
